She was seeking confidence

In my eventual disarmament

A passion withheld like guarded riches

Always and forever

Awaiting invitations

To be forthcoming

Perpetually etching suggestions

Into her hardest of hearts

As if it were my duty

To pick up every tab

On every date endlessly

Dissolving a raindrop into Humidity

Endless patience from my

Boundless heart

Perpetually unrewarded

Spoken in an alien language

Perhaps a night of surrender

A night of humanity

Why did I bother

She only counted dollar signs

Woman that she is

She refuses to thaw out
