Strange days indeed, as Reagan is still hailed as a hero by the current mix of Republicans who are in search of another false idol. Reagan destroyed mental healthcare, preached no government, but expanded it (Military spending), ran deficits, honored Nazis SS graves, sold weapons to Iran. The last thing that should freak out the Tea-party crowd is also had an amnesty program for Mexicans.

Great post George, I too have a chronic illness, although it’s physical, and I have the same fears of being abandoned by the system I had paid into for over 40 years. I would live in a much more impoverished state if I didn’t pick up a little income from helping writers publish books. I have nearly gotten my art studio set up to do some airbrushing. It’s taken me nearly two years to gather all things I need to do it. But soon I will be doing what I love, photo-realistic paintings of animals, fish birds and people and impressionist landscapes and seascapes. Keep writing George I find your writing inspirational.

I’ve seen the movie George, You’re not missing much. It’s slow with all the rigormarole that Lincoln
went through to get his bill passed. The same crap as today. Well I wasn’t impressed, not into watching a bunch of old men argue politics for 2 hours for $7.50. Today’s crap is bad enough the last thing I want to see is historic crap.
